1. We need more time to tune in
Men can be ready for sex anytime, anywhere, which makes it hard for them to understand why women need foreplay – with exceptions, of course. For them, sex is more physical than emotional, so it doesn’t take much to get in the mood. For us women, however, we need to get into the right headspace, and that’s exactly what foreplay is for.
It doesn’t have to last an hour, but a little compliment, some gentle touches, and care can really ignite a woman’s desire.
When they put in the effort, we return the pleasure with equal enthusiasm.
2. If you’re irritable, you must be on your period
Most men can’t wrap their heads around the fact that women bleed for days and don’t die. If they had to go through that every month, we’d probably be in World War III by now. If you’re with a guy who calls this time an "oral week", it’s best to leave him behind.
We don’t expect them to pamper us orally during this time, but being disgusted by a natural female process is childish and disappointing.
It’s also petty for a man to suggest a woman is on her period just because she’s upset or irritable. Those guys are best avoided.
3. Weight fluctuations
Sadly, most women’s self-confidence often depends on their weight. From a young age, we’re told we must be thin, so many women starve themselves to reach their dream figure.
Fasting and strict diets often trigger binge eating, causing the dreaded yo-yo effect.
The worst thing a man can do is comment on his partner’s weight gain, because that will likely push her to drown her sadness in a chocolate bar. If only men knew that a little positive encouragement is what really fuels a woman’s motivation to keep dieting or exercising!
4. Bigger is better – the female breast
For men, it’s penis size; for women, it’s breast size: bigger is better – or so everyone thinks – so we all want bigger. But while men’s penis size stays hidden until the bedroom, women’s breasts are always on display.
Push-up bras can add a little optical boost, but it’s usually easy to tell a woman’s size. Guys often like it when their partner’s breasts swell a bit during her period or while on birth control, but they should also understand that weight loss and gain affect breast size, not to mention pregnancy and breastfeeding.
5. They notice every pimple immediately
Not everyone is lucky enough to have flawless skin after puberty. Hormonal changes and periods can cause breakouts, even when we pile on every cream and foundation to hide imperfections.
It would help if men knew the best support they can offer is silence and no comments about our skin’s unevenness, because we’re already very aware of how we look.
