Virgo: the one who noticed everything
Virgo's attentiveness starts as love and curdles into vigilance when it has nowhere safe to land. The Virgo sibling is the one who clocked the unpaid bill on the hall table, who noticed a parent was quieter than usual, who learned to read a household the way other children read picture books. They didn't necessarily do more chores than anyone else — they simply thought about everything, constantly.
That doesn't switch off. Grown Virgos are the friends who remember the hospital appointment and text on the morning of it, and who then lie awake wondering if they phrased it wrong. The useful work for them is distinguishing between noticing something and being responsible for it. Those are two separate acts, and Virgo tends to treat them as one.
Cancer: the one who kept the peace
Cancer's version of the responsible sibling is emotional rather than logistical. They were the household's weather system — absorbing tension, softening a sharp comment, going to sit with whoever had gone quiet. They often grew up with an unusually accurate read on a parent's moods, because that reading kept the house calm.
In adulthood this makes them extraordinary friends and exhausted ones. Cancer carries other people's feelings home in their coat pocket and unpacks them at two in the morning. The habit worth building is a small, deliberate pause before stepping in: does this actually need me, or am I simply the first to feel it? Sometimes a room can be uncomfortable for a few minutes without anyone being harmed.
