I was telling the girl a story when she got a message and started typing with a mysterious smile. After a few minutes of awkward silence, I asked who she was chatting with. “Just a guy…” she said, still smiling. I waited five minutes, watching my watch, but neither the smile nor the typing stopped. I don’t know when she noticed I left, but when I looked back from the exit, she was still typing.

“Wanna hear a secret?” the girl asked. “I told my ex I was on birth control, but I wasn’t. Sadly, I didn’t get pregnant, even though I had plenty of money.” I took a sip of my drink, paid, and left.
