It’s not just delicious food, sex, or money that brings happiness.

Pure Comfort

One of the most enjoyable everyday luxuries I can easily access is coming home and taking off my bra. Then I shower, wash my hair, and feeling refreshed with a bare face, I slip into clean pajamas and crawl under freshly washed sheets in my cozy, soft bed. A little slice of heaven.

Furry Friends

When my dog greets me with the same joyful excitement whether I’m back from a trip, work, or just the corner store. And when my cat chooses to sleep on me instead of any of her fancy, expensive beds.

The Big Blue

Every year, my heart skips a beat the moment I see the sea on vacation. My fiancé is Spanish and grew up in Barcelona, so the sea was always there for him. But he’ll never quite understand why the sight of that vast blue water feels so heartwarming to me every single time.

Saying No

After years of people-pleasing and putting myself last, I finally learned to say no—and more importantly, to feel no guilt or self-doubt afterward. I’ve drawn my boundaries and won’t let anyone push them. One of the most underrated—and satisfying—things in the world is confidently saying no with complete peace of mind.

Evening Storms

Storms, but only at night. (And of course, when I’m safe at home, not battling the elements outside.) There’s something so calming about listening to rain pounding, thunder rumbling, and watching lightning from the cozy comfort of my warm home. For me, it’s pure relaxation.

The Business

Taking care of business in the office bathroom. It’s not just a relief—it’s a little extra thrill knowing I’m getting paid by the hour to do it.

Twilight

I’ve lived in the city all my life and only saw beautiful sunsets on vacation. But a few months ago, I rented a small, humble apartment where I can watch the sun dip behind the mountains every evening. It’s nothing fancy—a tiny, worn studio in a panel building—but I adore it. Every day, I pause whatever I’m doing and drop everything when the sunset begins. I step out onto the little balcony and quietly watch the last rays fade away on the horizon. It’s so beautiful, I never get tired of it.

No Alarm

There’s one day a week when I can sleep in as long as I want. When I know I won’t wake up to an alarm. I look forward to this little luxury all week—waking up slowly on my own and lounging in my warm bed for as long as feels good.

Crack and Pop

Massage is well-known for feeling amazing, but fewer people visit chiropractors—though for me, it’s even more enjoyable. Sitting at a desk all day leaves me stiff, and nothing beats a good crack. My chiropractor pops my hands, feet, back, and shoulders, but my favorite is when they suddenly pull my head—as if to snap it—and I feel my entire spine crack from neck to tailbone. It might sound scary, but trust me, it’s fantastic. I leave floating on air and highly recommend it!

Scented Bliss

I love when something smells nice. A light perfume, a delicious pastry… but my favorite scent is rain. After a shower, I sit in the garden, close my eyes, and take deep breaths of the fresh, earthy aroma. I absolutely adore it.
