"I love being the little croissant" – Things we don’t realize men secretly enjoy. They’d never tell you, but even kings of creation have a soft side.

Music

Officially, I’m a rocker – I even had a metal band in my prime – yet there’s some "girly music" I actually like. Taylor Swift has some great songs, and Billie Eilish and Nicki Minaj are good too. Of course, I’d never tell my friends because they’d tease me forever. And if I admitted to liking certain musicals, I’d never live down not being gay, even though Les Misérables and Sweeney Todd are such favorites that I know them by heart.

Playful Arguments

I love it when my wife playfully argues with me. Not serious fights, but when she scolds me for, say, loading the dishwasher “wrong” again. In those moments, she’s like a cute little kitten trying to hunt me down, and it’s absolutely adorable even if it drives me a bit crazy.

In a Trance

My girlfriend knows I fall asleep when she cradles my head in her lap and plays with my hair. She uses this to peacefully watch her favorite reality show. I pretend to grumble about it, but honestly, I find it super sweet.

The Hunter

I love it when my girlfriend calls me to "kill" some creature. Don’t worry, it’s usually a bug like a stink bug or spider. She’s terrified of any creepy crawlers, so it’s my job to get rid of them. In those moments, I feel like a big, strong manly beast. (I never kill them, just escort them out.)

Sit Down

My wife thinks I do it for her, but I actually prefer sitting down to pee. It keeps everything from splashing everywhere, so I don’t have to clean up. No matter how good anyone thinks their aim is, splashes are inevitable. At night, I don’t have to turn on the light or lose my sleepy vibe, and I don’t have to fuss with putting the seat back down. It’s all upside.

Stories

I usually grumble a bit when I have to go to the movies with my wife to see a new romantic comedy, but honestly, they mostly entertain me. I can’t remember the last time I left a romcom disappointed. Here’s a secret: I have favorites like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, When Harry Met Sally (a true classic), P.S. I Love You, and I happily rewatch Love Actually every Christmas.

Fancy Drinks

I enjoy so-called "girly" drinks. I love non-alcoholic cocktails—the more colorful, the better. I like champagne, surprisingly. Gin and tonic or vodka with any syrup works too. And I adore cream liqueurs: eggnog, Bailey’s, chocolate liqueur—you name it. Funny enough, I’m not a sweet tooth, but these sugary drinks hit the spot.

The Stylist

I love when my girlfriend dresses me. We hit the mall, try on a bunch of weird stuff, and she puts together an outfit that makes me feel like James Bond. I’d never pull this off on my own—I have no clue about fashion and don’t really care—but I enjoy seeing myself in the mirror looking sharp. It really takes a woman’s eye.

Cuddled Up

I love when my wife snuggles up to me at bedtime and I get to be the little croissant. Even though I’m the protective guy—twice her size—I feel safe and secure in her arms.
