"That's all." Remember Miranda Priestly’s ice-cold line? Meryl Streep’s iconic role, Anne Hathaway’s amazing transformation as Andy Sachs, and the rare peek behind the scenes of the fashion world captivated us nearly two decades ago. Now, the name Runway is back: The Devil Wears Prada sequel arrives in spring 2026!

Style Never Goes Out of Fashion

If you’ve ever dreamed of jetting off to Paris as Miranda’s assistant or still smile at the famous sweater scene, here’s great news: The Devil Wears Prada sequel is officially in the works!

Disney confirmed filming has already started, and our beloved characters are returning. According to Deadline, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and of course Meryl Streep will reunite on screen, with the movie set to premiere on May 1, 2026.

David Frankel, who directed the original, is back at the helm, with Aline Brosh McKenna returning as screenwriter. So, the fashion world’s favorite film is making a stylish comeback.

New Faces Join the Old Favorites

The excitement grows as new cast members join the familiar stars. Kenneth Branagh will play Miranda’s husband, while Simone Ashley, known from Bridgerton, steps in as an up-and-coming stylist who might just become the next fashion icon in the Runway universe.

Variety also reports Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Justin Theroux are joining, along with two talented Broadway actors, Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora.

What Happens Twenty Years Later?

While the official plot remains under wraps, Variety reveals the sequel will reflect real-life changes: Miranda struggles to maintain power in the fading world of print media, while her former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) rises as a top executive at a global luxury company, becoming a direct rival. Expect a generational clash and the digital revolution to shape the story.

The hosts of the Girls Gotta Eat podcast confirmed it’s not a reboot but a true continuation. "That’s exactly right. A reboot would just ruin it," said Ashley Hesseltine. Rayna Greenberg added, "I’m so excited the original cast is coming back after twenty years."

Andy Is Back

Fans have wondered if Andy Sachs, the slightly naive but ambitious journalist, will return to the fashion world. The answer is yes! Anne Hathaway is already on set, so we can count on her—even if we don’t yet know where her journey has taken her. Is she still in media? Or has she taken a completely new path?

The film may partly draw from Lauren Weisberger’s 2013 novel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, where Andy leads a wedding magazine and faces Miranda again due to an unexpected event from the past. How much of this will appear on screen is still a mystery, but one thing’s sure: it’s going to be an exciting story.

Nate Won’t Be Back

Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s boyfriend Nate, won’t appear in the sequel. Fans have labeled Nate "the real villain" for not fully supporting Andy’s career. Even Grenier admitted, "I was probably selfish and immature," according to Entertainment Weekly.

All in all, based on what’s leaked so far, the sequel not only honors the original story but also offers a fresh take on how the fashion industry has evolved.

Digital content creation, influencers, fast fashion, and sustainability will surely be central themes.

The countdown has begun, the fashion world is ready—and so are we. If you ever thought The Devil Wears Prada’s iconic world couldn’t be recreated, Miranda would probably just say: "That’s all."
