My friends and I have a January tradition we stick to faithfully. At the start of the year—when everyone’s still buzzing with fresh energy and new-year excitement hasn’t faded—we get together, pour ourselves sparkling cocktails, surround ourselves with colorful magazines, and then everyone grabs scissors and creates their annual vision board.
A vision board is basically a visual map: a collection of images, words, and moods that highlight what you want to bring more of into your life. It’s not a bucket list, a goal chart, or a magical tool—though some of my friends do believe in its spiritual power. For me, it’s mostly about enjoying this shared ritual, which always sparks deeper conversations too.
While I don’t believe a cardboard board can "attract" things magically, I do believe that what you see regularly reminds you. It keeps your focus. It pulls you back when you’re about to lose your way, helping you remember throughout the year what you’re working toward. That’s why these are the things I put on my 2026 vision board.

Professional Growth – But In A New Way
One of the strongest themes on my vision board this year is professional growth. Not in the form of promotions or specific milestones, but from a gentler, yet braver angle. I want to step outside my usual boundaries more this year. To try new paths, even if I don’t know where they’ll lead.
I’m not chasing immediate results but curiosity. The freedom to experiment. To walk my own path—not one already worn by others—even if it’s slower, winding, and sometimes uncomfortable.
Harmony and Joy – More Than Just Getting By
Last year, my board featured two words about my love life: "love and gratitude". I was already in a very loving relationship, but since we’re very different personalities, it took a lot of work to make it work well. It was important to remind myself there’s a lot to be grateful for—because there’s someone to share that effort with.
This year, I want to take it a step further. Not just survive the challenges, but celebrate what we’ve achieved together. To allow ourselves joy, to honor how far we’ve come. And to accept that everything won’t be perfect only when we’re “done,” but right now. Exactly where we are.
Being Present – Because These Days Won’t Come Back
As a mom, it’s tough to define just one goal, since this role often means you can’t even guess what challenges tomorrow—or the year—will bring. But as the mom of a seven-year-old girl, I know exactly this: the days when she’s still truly little are numbered, and I’m her role model in everything.
That’s why my vision board this year doesn’t say "be a better mom," but focuses on being present. The intention to not take these days lightly. To remind myself: these are the moments I’ll miss when I’m older, and to make sure I savor every single one.

And Of Course: My Friends
The ones I create this board with every year. The ones I can be honest with about what I want, what scares me, and where I’m stuck. I hope they remain a part of my life in 2026—not just on this cardboard, but in my everyday life.
For me, a vision board isn’t a promise for the future. It’s more like a reminder of what I want to focus on while life—unpredictable as always—keeps moving forward. And strangely, sometimes a simple board can be our strongest compass.
