Ever dreamed of hosting a glittering masquerade ball, complete with secret romances and society gossip swirling around you? That fantasy just got a lot more playable. The world of Bridgerton has officially arrived in The Sims 4, in the first-ever crossover between Netflix, Shondaland, and Electronic Arts — and it's every bit as lavish as you'd hope.
Whether you're a die-hard Bridgerton fan or simply love building richly detailed worlds in The Sims, this collaboration has something for you. Think candlelit ballrooms, Regency-era gowns, aristocratic décor, and a brand-new personality trait designed to make your Sims fall harder and love deeper.
Free Bridgerton rewards — but only for a limited time
From May 12 through July 7, The Sims 4 players can unlock more than twenty free exclusive rewards through a limited-time in-game event. The new content spans character creation items, furniture, decorations, and one exciting new personality trait.
The developers wanted players to do more than just collect new outfits and objects — they wanted them to actually feel the Bridgerton world. And the rewards reflect that ambition.
Among the items up for grabs: a replica of Lady Whistledown's famous society paper, elegant card tables, display cases filled with character-inspired relics, and decorative pieces that evoke the daily life of a Regency aristocratic household.
A masquerade ball, Sims-style
The collaboration also includes two new purchasable kits that take things even further.
The Lady Bridgerton's Masquerade Ballroom Kit lets players build their own grand ballroom from scratch. Crystal chandeliers, lush floral arrangements, marble fireplaces, and sweeping banquet tables — everything you need to recreate the show's most iconic scenes, right down to the last gilded detail.
Lead developer Salomon Duarte told Variety that the team studied the interiors of Bridgerton House and the show's most memorable balls in close detail. The goal was to ensure that every new object didn't just look beautiful — it had to open up new storytelling possibilities for players.
The show's most iconic looks, now in your wardrobe
The second new kit, the Lady Bridgerton's Masquerade Ball Fashion Kit, puts the spotlight firmly on fashion. Players can dress their Sims in outfits that fans will recognize immediately from the screen.
The collection includes Sophie's legendary silver gown, Penelope's show-stopping pirate costume, Benedict's effortlessly stylish look, and memorable accessories and ensembles from both Lady Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte.
Crucially, the team didn't draw inspiration from just one season. According to Duarte, the entire visual universe of the show was considered — particularly the color palettes and patterns associated with each character. As a result, most pieces are available in multiple color variations, giving players the freedom to make each look their own.
A new trait made for romance
One of the most intriguing additions in the free event is the brand-new "Heart on Your Sleeve" personality trait.
Developers Ashton Wait and Renee Wooten describe it as a trait built specifically for romantic storytelling. Sims with this quality feel emotions more intensely, form deeper bonds with like-minded characters more easily — but also clash more quickly with those whose values don't align.
The trait was directly inspired by Lady Bridgerton's philosophy on love and the importance of human connection, tying it closely to the show's emotional core.
Made by fans, for fans
What makes this collaboration feel especially genuine is that many members of The Sims 4 development team are long-time Bridgerton fans themselves. Ashton Wait has said that several team members have watched the series multiple times, and that personal passion found its way into every corner of the project.
For the team, this wasn't just a licensed deal — it was a chance to bring together two worlds that share the same beating heart: human relationships, raw emotion, and the joy of storytelling.
Your Bridgerton story starts now
Whether you want to orchestrate a spectacular masquerade ball, let a secret romance slowly unfold, or build an entire new social season from the ground up, everything is now in place for players to write their own Bridgerton story inside The Sims 4.
The free event runs until July 7 — so there's still time to claim your rewards and step into the world of the ton.
