She embarked on the great adventure with a noble goal
Seren, from Carmarthenshire, Wales, is currently the youngest girl ever to reach the iconic peak of Morocco's Atlas Mountains - proudly told her father, Glyn Price.
Their special journey's goal was not only to conquer the mountain but also to raise donations for the children's hospital that saved Seren's life years ago.
“When I was a baby, I had a big lump on my neck, and they helped me” - said Seren when asked why she took on this challenge.
They walked a lot in terrible heat
Have you ever felt on a hot summer day that you'd rather not leave the house, let alone walk far? Little Seren, however, decided to set out with her father even in conditions that could hardly be called easy, in the heat.
In mid-August last year, they flew to Morocco, started from Marrakesh to the village at the foot of the mountain, then, together with their local guide, they embarked on the grueling eight-hour hike - in over 40°C heat - to Mount Toubkal's base camp. They spent the night there and set off at dawn towards the summit.

They gained a lifelong experience
The moment of arrival was unforgettable. “We had to walk on difficult, narrow paths, slippery, steep rocky terrain - but when we reached the top, it was worth all the effort. About twenty people were waiting for us at the summit, who followed Seren's story through social media and greeted us with applause” - recalled the unforgettable experience the little girl's father.
The little climber was asked how long she prepared for the hike. “A week” - she replied with a smile. Her father added laughingly: “It was actually a bit more - we prepared for about a year, including night hikes to Pen y Fan in Wales”. Seren, by the way, had impressed many before with a challenge she undertook. In 2022, she became the youngest to complete the UK's famous Three Peaks challenge within 48 hours.

Her father supports her in everything
Seren had a source to inherit her love of climbing, and it was a conscious decision to climb North Africa's highest mountain with him. Glyn has been a passionate climber for some time but emphasized that children's interests cannot be forced. “I also have a son - I tried to take him hiking, but he is not interested. Seren, however, loves it” - he said.
Perhaps the most touching part of the whole story is that Seren revealed why climbing is so special to her and what she loves most about it: “That I can be with Dad - and that I see beautiful things when we reach the top of the mountain”.
Preparing for another adventure
Little Seren's adventures certainly continue! For 2026, she has another bold goal in sight: climbing Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the snow!” - said an excited Seren, who has already started training with her dad, including in Scotland.
