Preparing for the unexpected

Genertel Insurance can help you find the right insurance, which is why it’s worth browsing through the offers. It’s advisable to choose one that provides solutions for every damage case, even those with minimal chances of ever occurring. Even in an idyllic environment, despite all caution and preventive actions, serious accidents causing home damage can happen. Not long ago in Hungary, someone crashed a car into a house in a small town.

The accident was caused by a drunk driver who likely lost control of the vehicle and "rushed" into the garage of a house by the roadside. He broke through the building’s wall and collided with the family car parked inside. Using the force of the collision and the stationary car as a chisel, he also broke through the wall adjacent to the garage. Fortunately, the driver survived the accident, but the property simply became uninhabitable. The family living there had to cope not only with the emotional trauma caused by the incident but also with serious financial damages.

Many home damages are caused by hail, storm damage, and lightning strikes. However, other dangers also lurk “from above.” In an American suburb in early 2021, a malfunctioning Boeing passenger plane engine broke apart into huge pieces shortly after takeoff, falling onto the city and houses below. Fortunately, no personal injuries occurred, but a particularly large piece of the structure missed a family house by just a few meters and landed on the porch.

Modern technology can also be dangerous

Robot vacuum cleaners can be especially useful in everyday life, greatly easing housework. There are smart devices that can even be turned on from your phone and controlled remotely. Those who own such devices often can’t imagine life without them.

However, no matter how smart these machines are, some human precautions will always be necessary during use. It’s better to put away unstable objects from the path, otherwise, they can cause serious home damage. A tall vase in the way is enough for trouble to happen. They can knock books off the shelf or even topple a valuable TV.

An effective home insurance is the solution

Of course, you can’t prepare for every possibility, which is why it’s recommended to take out comprehensive home insurance that covers every possible damage event. This way, even if something unpleasant happens, financial help arrives immediately.
