An Exciting Dr. Seuss Film Is on the Way
Warner Bros. is bringing the classic Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss to the big screen as a stunning animated musical — featuring Ariana Grande lending her voice to the magic — according to Entertainment Weekly. Behind this project is a dream team: Jon M. Chu, director of Wicked, reunites with Ariana, while co-director Jill Culton, a hidden star in animation (Yeti Baby, Shrek, Toy Story), brings her expertise to the table.
"I love this book, I love this script, I love Dr. Seuss’s beautiful world, and I love this amazing, creative team. I’m beyond excited to be part of this."
And it’s not just voice acting: the film will feature brand-new original songs by the legendary EGOT-winning songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman, Dear Evan Hansen). We can already bet the soundtrack will be a hit.
A Book That Invites You on a Journey
Dr. Seuss, also known for The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat, wrote Oh, the Places You'll Go! in 1990. It’s not your typical storybook — it’s more of a poetic journey filled with inspiring images and abstract messages, now being adapted into a film for the first time.
There are no traditional characters or plot twists, just dreamlike scenes and the famous “Waiting Place,” creatively reimagined to give filmmakers total freedom. This makes the project special: a brand-new world built in the style of Seuss’s drawn universe, with unique story, characters, and songs.
Josh Gad, known as Olaf from the Frozen films, will co-star. The screenplay is by Rob Lieber, and producers J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor from Bad Robot are on board.
Ariana Grande Shines in the Spotlight Again
Many worried Ariana Grande might sideline her music career for acting. But she made it clear:
"It would be pretty silly to think that just because I’m involved in a lot of things lately... I’d give up singing and music...!!! Music has always been my lifeblood. There’s room for everything in my life."
This project perfectly blends music, storytelling, and visuals into one magical experience — with Ariana’s voice and acting presence shining bright once again.
Why Ariana?
Ariana Grande has evolved into a true chameleon in recent years: a style icon, pop superstar, and musical theater actress all in one. The Dr. Seuss universe offers a colorful, inspiring space where she’ll truly feel at home.
Meanwhile, she’s not slowing down after Wicked: in November 2026, she returns alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents series. And fans won’t have to wait long for Wicked’s sequel, hitting theaters locally on November 20.
The Magical Journey Begins
The Oh, the Places You’ll Go! premiere is set for March 17, 2028 — including IMAX screenings, promising an emotional and visual adventure. This will be Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s second major Seuss adaptation, following the 2026 release of The Cat in the Hat, starring Bill Hader.
It’s a great sign that the Dr. Seuss universe has already won hearts: both the live-action Grinch (Jim Carrey) and Illumination’s Lorax captivated audiences. Now, a new generation will experience the “Seussian” magic. Are you excited too?
