Your dog will love the lively beach vibe, and you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Badacsony. Remember to clean up after your dog and respect others’ peace!
2. Keszthely
We’re not stopping at Fonyód—Keszthely also offers a dog-friendly swimming spot. The former free beach has been transformed into a pet-friendly zone with a mix of sunny and shaded areas. When hunger strikes, grab a tasty burger or lángos from local street food stands nearby.
3. Dunavarsány
The Jade-Beach in Dunavarsány boasts a large green premium beach perfect for cooling off with your dog. While your small or medium-sized pup enjoys a splash on Fridays through Sundays, you can try out over ten different water sports to keep the fun going.
4. Pécs
Since 2017, the fenced Hirdi dog beach in Pécs has welcomed pups with plenty of space to run and swim. The shallow water is perfect even for small dogs to cool off comfortably on hot days.
5. Kőszeg
After exploring Kőszeg’s sights, unwind with your furry pal at Lake Abért. The water gradually deepens, perfect for cooling off together. Bring a couple of umbrellas for shade, and if your dog loves sports, the agility course will help burn off some energy.
6. Szolnok
In 2020, Szolnok’s free beach added a spacious dog-friendly area where pups can swim in the Tisza River. The area isn’t fenced, so keep your dog close and bring a long leash for safety. Best of all, entry to the sandy shore is free.
7. Mályi Lake
Just 10 km from Miskolc, Mályi Lake offers beautiful hiking spots and a dog-friendly swimming area on its southern shore. Pack some sandwiches and drinks since there are currently no vendors, but upgrades and new services are planned soon.
8. Tata
Looking for a scenic getaway? Head to Lake Tata (Old Lake) for stunning views and a welcoming environment where your dog can join you. While there’s no dedicated dog beach, pups are free to cool off in the lake’s refreshing waters, marked clearly with signs for dog owners.
