More Good Things Find Me Since I Started Seeing Life Differently — Lifestyle
In this article

More good things have been coming my way ever since I learned to see these things differently. For a long time, I believed happiness and success simply came from working hard and staying committed to our goals.

Looking back, I see those are important factors, but over the years I’ve realized real change happens through self-awareness and recognizing our own needs.

In today’s world, it’s incredibly easy to forget how vital self-love is: we get stuck in the pressure to perform, compare ourselves to others, and neglect the most important person—ourselves.

But when we finally learn to give ourselves the same care and attention we freely offer others, something special happens. The world simply starts responding to us differently.

Treating Myself Like My Closest Friend

At first, it was really hard to see myself as someone worthy of genuine care. It’s easy—and at the same time tough—to do everything for others, but when it’s our turn, suddenly a thousand excuses pop up. I still need to do laundry, weed the garden, or take the dog for a walk.

Then I discovered that allowing myself more rest and confidently delegating tasks not only frees me up but also helps me feel more balanced.

One of the most powerful tricks is to imagine yourself as your dearest friend. How would you treat her? You’d want the best for her in every way and definitely wouldn’t engage in harsh, hurtful self-talk. So why not do the same for yourself? This mindset helped me see myself from a kinder perspective.

Celebrate Every Little Win

I had to learn that celebration isn’t just for the big milestones. I used to always postpone it: once we reach this, once that happens, once there’s this much in the bank… Meanwhile, I kept pushing myself nonstop—weekdays and weekends, day and night (literally).

Now I know every phase of life, every small success deserves joy. Whether it’s a carefully planned trip, a spontaneous day off, or a peaceful coffee after finishing a task—I can be grateful for all of it.

If we always wait for the perfect moment, life will pass us by.

The past few years have taught me: we never know when everything might change in an instant. So I no longer suppress the desire to appreciate what I have, because it’s these moments—the smaller, unexpected wins and experiences—that truly brighten our days.

Grateful for the Past and Who I Was

Looking back now, I’m grateful for where I started and all the effort it took to get here. We built everything together, and even when we focused just on surviving, I see now every little effort counted.

I’m thankful not only for the unity we created and our luck (because that was needed too), but also for myself. For the old me who never gave up, even when life knocked me down time and again—in every way. This realization brought a new respect for myself, and with that attitude, life seems to have become more generous toward me.

More good things find me since I started seeing myself and my life this way. Maybe you’ve felt the same—just pushing forward without noticing all you’ve achieved. Or being too hard on yourself while giving others care and compassion without hesitation.

But if you learn to see yourself and your life through a different lens, change can come. Not because everything suddenly gets easy, but because you finally allow yourself to see the value in where you are right now.
