George Washington, the first American president, died 25 years before the first dinosaur fossil was discovered. That means he had no idea dinosaurs ever existed.
Sex Lawsuit
A 47-year-old French woman sued her 51-year-old husband for not having sex with her during their 21-year marriage. They divorced, and she sought compensation for the sexless marriage. The husband cited fatigue and health issues, but the judge sided with the wife and ordered him to pay $15,000 as pain and suffering.
Surprisingly the Same Age
It’s hard to believe these celebrities are the same age, but they are: Snoop Dogg and Jared Leto are both 53, Prince William and Nicki Minaj are 42, Beyoncé and Elijah Wood are 44, as are Natalie Portman and Pitbull. Sandra Bullock and the blonde, tousled British politician Boris Johnson are 60, while Cindy Crawford and boxer Mike Tyson are currently 58. Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth II were born the same year, and if alive today, Anne Frank and Martin Luther King Jr. would be the same age.
The Past and the Future
You might think barbaric executions only happened in the Middle Ages, but here’s a twist: the first Star Wars movie came out in 1977, the same year France carried out its last guillotine execution.
Nightmare
Few know that the legendary horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street is based on a true story. A boy was so terrified of his nightmares that he refused to sleep. After days of staying awake, when he finally dozed off, he died in his sleep—screaming and calling for help. His story inspired the horror icon Freddy Krueger, who kills victims in their dreams.

Many believe slavery ended in America in 1865, but sadly, there are still 40 million people enslaved worldwide today. Three out of four slaves are women, and one in four is a child.

Drowning
A whale that doesn’t get caught in a net, harpooned, or hunted by other animals will age and die naturally—but it can drown because weakness keeps it from surfacing to breathe.
The Brain
Brain activity can be detected up to 10 minutes after the heart stops. During this time, you might still feel a loved one’s touch, hear their last words, or even the doctor announcing death. Interestingly, the brain is so soft and delicate that it starts to break down under its own weight if removed fresh from the skull. The brains you see in doctors’ hands are preserved with a resin-like substance.

If you took one billion people from both China and India’s populations, they’d still be the two most populous countries. One in five people worldwide is Chinese, and one in six is Indian. Remarkably, India had just 359 million people in 1950, and today it’s grown to 1.46 billion.
