Achieving really long hair is a game of patience, as the natural growth rate, usually one to two centimeters per month, often seems insufficient for those dreaming of a meter-long mane. Most have already tried numerous tricks for faster hair growth, but often their own habits stand in the way of reaching the desired length.

Poor hair care routine

Many would not even think about how much their daily hair care habits influence hair growth. If you make mistakes with the frequency of washing or choosing inappropriate hair care products, it can easily cause hair breakage and hair loss.

For example, washing hair too often can remove the natural oils from the scalp that ensure the hair's health and hydration. Therefore, it is worth reducing the number of washes and switching to a gentler shampoo and conditioner suitable for your hair type.

Harmful effects of heat

Regular use of heat styling tools such as straighteners, hair dryers, or curling irons can also damage hair. High temperatures can dry out hair strands, making them brittle and weak, thus slowing down the growth process.

The first step in hair protection is to use a heat protectant spray and try to reduce the frequency of using heat styling tools. Try air drying and creating natural waves, which are much gentler on the hair.

Inappropriate diet

Your diet reflects the condition of your hair; if you do not get enough vitamins and minerals, it can prevent proper hair growth. Hair strands use these essential nutrients for regeneration and growth.

Consume more protein, iron-rich foods such as spinach or meats, and pay attention to vitamins like biotin and vitamin D. These are crucial in stimulating the hair growth process.

Effects of chronic stress

It is no coincidence that lifestyle stress is considered one of the biggest enemies of hair health. Prolonged stress can cause hormonal imbalances, leading to hair loss and interrupted hair growth.

It is important to introduce stress management techniques into your daily routine, such as meditation, yoga, or even establishing a regular exercise plan, all of which contribute to maintaining overall health and promoting hair growth.

Lack of rest

Sleep is a fundamental part of the body's regeneration, making it essential for maintaining the beauty and health of hair. In case of sleep deprivation, hair strands can weaken, and your scalp may be deprived of vital nutrients.

Maintain a fixed sleep routine, sleep at least 7-8 hours daily, and ensure a proper sleeping environment. These steps benefit not only your hair but also your skin and overall well-being.
