Using My Real Name
After my breakup, I landed a pretty high-level job at a multinational company. One day, HR called me in because someone was sending anonymous emails claiming my resume and portfolio were fake. I calmly assured them everything I presented was genuine and backed by my work.
Since my ex sent those emails from his own address, I showed the company his threatening messages after our breakup, where he said he would ruin my career. The company was outraged and passed the case to their legal team, who supported me fully. There was a small lawsuit against my ex for dangerous threats and defamation, which ended with a hefty fine and him getting fired. (Karma!)
Plagiarism
We were classmates, and when I broke up with him because of his constant jealousy, he sent an anonymous letter to the university accusing me of plagiarism on my thesis.
But he missed two key things: first, I compulsively saved my work progress in stages, and second, his own writing style was very distinctive. Using his threatening letters, I quickly proved he was the accuser. The investigation took weeks, but I was cleared, while it turned out he had shamelessly copy-pasted most of his own work. He had to say goodbye to his diploma.

The Party
My ex and I parted on good terms, so I was surprised when, two years later, he decided to try to ruin my engagement party. He sent my fiancé a long letter claiming I had cheated multiple times and was currently seeing someone else.
Luckily, my partner just laughed it off, and together we planned a playful comeback. He replied, thanking him for the info but making it clear he had no intention of calling off the engagement. My ex was proud of himself and bragged to all our mutual friends about how he had come between us.
A week later, my fiancé and I threw the engagement party together with a friend, and we invited my ex too. He was told it was just a casual backyard BBQ. So he got to watch as my fiancé slid the ring onto my finger and we kissed with all the love in the world. My ex’s face was priceless—bright red as he left, while the whole crowd laughed at him. Naturally, all our mutual friends cut ties with him.
The Followers
I broke up with my unbearable ex who started reporting my Etsy shop and Instagram, accusing me of stealing designs. None of it was true, but my accounts were suspended during the investigation. That was a huge problem since I made my living from it.
I decided to tweak my shop’s name a bit, created new accounts, and promoted them on TikTok. In a short video, I shared how my ex tried to sabotage my small business. (No names mentioned, of course.) The video got thousands of views in days, and my new Etsy and Instagram pages gained ten times more followers than the old ones.
Etsy closed the investigation and banned my ex, which felt like sweet justice since he was also selling on the platform. Instead of ruining me, he ended up destroying himself, while I became ten times more successful.

The Secret Group
My ex-girlfriend couldn’t accept that I found someone new right after our breakup, so she started a smear campaign against me. She spread rumors that I had cheated the whole time, which wasn’t true, but surprisingly many believed her.
Since we lived in a small town, word spread fast and some friends turned away. Then an anonymous well-wisher sent me some interesting screenshots. It turned out my ex and a few friends were bragging about their dating lives in a private group. That’s how I found out how many times and with whom he cheated.
I simply forwarded the proof without comment to a few popular friends, and the situation resolved itself. The community immediately "rehabilitated" me, while he was ostracized and moved away within a year.
