As the days get longer, despite the birdsong and fresh air, I often notice that spring doesn’t just boost energy—it can also bring fatigue along with it.
Over the past few years, I’ve felt drained during this season, and coffee wasn’t always the fix. This year, I’m preparing consciously to keep my days vibrant, using small but powerful habits to fight off spring tiredness.
Wake Up: Focusing on Water Instead of My Phone
I used to reach for my phone first thing in the morning, but I realized that habit drains me more than it energizes. Now, I start every morning with a big glass of water, which hydrates and gently wakes up my body.
After a short wait, once I feel hungry, I take time for a nourishing breakfast. It always includes plenty of veggies or fruit—I’ve heard this from experts and experienced it myself: vitamin- and fiber-rich breakfasts kickstart the day perfectly and provide lasting energy. This slow, mindful start has become a little ritual that mentally prepares me for the day’s challenges.

Nourishing Foods, Fresh Ingredients
Throughout the day, I focus on eating mainly nourishing foods. At markets and stores, I mostly pick up fresh vegetables and fruits: peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and my new favorite, Jerusalem artichokes, regularly make it to my plate.
I always keep lemons at home to make lemon water, adding extra freshness and vitamins. I prepare more meat-free meals, but when I do eat meat, chicken breast is my go-to, always paired with plenty of vegetables or pickles.
I also eat fish regularly, knowing that light, healthy proteins are essential for spring’s recharge. For me, mindful eating no longer means restriction—it’s a joy: colorful plates and harmonious flavors give me energy too.

The Magic of Movement and Fresh Air
Exercise has become key for me in beating spring fatigue. I make an effort to spend more time outdoors: simple walks and short hikes fill me with energy. When the weather warms up, I’ll bring out my bike again and keep up with regular home workouts.
Longer walks with my puppy aren’t just physical activity—they bring extra joy that lifts my mood. These moments help me slow down, release stress, and reconnect with nature’s rhythm.

Recharging with Family and Friends
Social connections are just as important for our energy. I make a point to spend more time on community activities, meeting family and friends for coffee, dining out occasionally, walking, or simply chatting.
These small but regular social moments recharge me deeply and help make spring a season rich in both physical and emotional energy. Laughter, shared experiences, and spontaneous moments all boost my energy and happiness.

D-Vitamin Alongside Sunshine
Since early spring sunshine isn’t always strong enough, I continue to take vitamin D supplements, just like in winter. This supports my immune system and helps maintain my energy levels.
Along with sunny walks, fresh air, and mindful movement, this little boost helps me truly feel spring as a time of vitality and freshness.

This conscious routine made of small steps has noticeably lifted my days in a short time. Spring no longer feels like a season of fatigue but one of freshness, vitality, and new energy. Recharging body and soul with fresh air, nourishing food, movement, social connections, and a few extra rituals helps me live each day more energized and joyful.
