I Ate Carbs and Lost Weight
On top of that, the scale wouldn’t budge. So I decided to give carbs another chance on vacation and stopped seeing them as the enemy. It worked! After just a week, my pants felt noticeably looser. I ate sourdough bread, potatoes, and pasta daily—anything I craved. I listened to my body’s signals and gave it carbs whenever it asked.
I Ate After 6 PM and Lost Weight
I Moved Less and Lost Weight
Other than that, I rested a lot and soaked up the sun on the beach. I was surprised to lose more weight this way than when I pushed myself daily. Often, I forced exercise even when my body needed rest. Maybe giving myself more recovery time would have made the change even more effective.
I Didn’t Count Calories and Lost Weight
By giving it exactly what it craved, I never overate and felt completely satisfied—body and soul. Counting calories is unnecessary because our bodies are incredibly smart machines that know exactly how much energy they need. They also tell us when we’ve had enough. When you truly feed your body what it wants, cravings disappear.
Overall, this week of vacation didn’t wreck my progress or cause weight gain. Instead, I felt amazing in my skin. By not depriving myself, I boosted my metabolism and made my body happy.
I’m not sure yet if this lifestyle will keep me at my ideal weight long-term or if weight gain might return once I’m back to work. But I’m rethinking my approach and won’t keep punishing my body anymore!
