Holidays offer a moment to pause the daily hustle and truly rediscover the magic of little joys.
For me, Easter isn’t just about painting eggs or table centerpieces: it’s a time when family, friends, and our own little rituals take center stage. When chosen or made with care and love, decorations give us much more than just beauty: they create genuine memories and joyful moments that stay with us for years.
The Magic of Traditions: Memories That Live On
As a kid, I always looked forward to Easter with excitement, especially because of the traditions surrounding it. One of our favorite customs is to take a walk in nature a few weeks before Easter, gathering pussy willow branches and noticing the small signs of spring. These walks, the fresh air, birdsong, sunshine, and closeness to nature all helped turn the preparation into a joyful experience.
When we got home, we decorated the pussy willow branches with Easter ornaments—often handmade—and each branch told a little story. These childhood memories still come back as an adult: I continue these traditions because I believe the true magic of the holiday lies in shared experiences, with meaningful objects adding so much to them.

Handmade Decor: Crafting Memories
The magic of a handmade ornament lies not only in its beauty but in the memory of making it. Painting, gluing, and assembling slow down time and let us enjoy the joy of creativity. It doesn’t matter if every shape or color isn’t perfect—what counts is the love put into it.
If crafting isn’t possible, it’s uplifting to go choosing decorations together with loved ones or simply take a little time for yourself.
Mindful presence and focused attention make these moments truly special.
Spring Inside and on the Balcony – Small Details, Big Impact
During Easter, our love for nature shows in many ways. Potted spring plants or a simple fresh tulip on the table help fill the home with festive vibes. They’re not only beautiful but also deepen the holiday feeling: colors, scents, and little details leave lasting impressions.

Festive Table: The Magic Is in the Details
Rituals around meals—the carefully chosen egg holders, special napkins, and table decorations—not only look great but also enhance the joy of being together. Our family egg painting isn’t just decoration: it’s an activity everyone can join, filled with laughter and conversation woven between colors and shapes. These moments become lasting memories, brought back to life again and again through photos and stories.

The True Essence of the Holiday: Presence and Joy
Ultimately, it’s not the decorations that make the holiday, but mindfully living in the moment. The preparations, shared walks, pussy willows and tulips, egg painting, and table decorations are all tools that help the holiday be more than just appearances—they make it truly felt and memorable.
For me, Easter is always about slowing down, enjoying ourselves, and collecting moments that truly matter. Decorations build a bridge between past and present, offer time together, and create the little memories we happily revisit year after year.
