Table Centerpieces

For table centerpieces, it’s best to use larger pine cones since they stand out more and catch the eye. If you can get your hands on some big ones, keep them simple—pine cones already scream holiday vibes! Just add a few Christmas ornaments nearby or wrap a festive ribbon or string of lights around them, and you’ve got a stunning centerpiece ready to shine.

If you’ve gathered plenty, don’t hesitate to take apart a few cones. You can craft a unique mini Christmas tree for your table. Start with a wooden slice or, if you don’t have one, place a moss-covered pot and insert a branch. Carve a triangular shape from floral foam and attach pine cone scales from bottom to top. By the time you reach the top, your charming little tree will take shape—feel free to decorate it to match your style.

Ornaments to Hang on the Tree

If you want a truly natural look, pine cones are a top pick among natural elements. Decorating them is super simple. Just stick a wire into the base of the cone and bend it into a loop with pliers. Then thread colorful ribbons, twine, or even a bent paperclip through the loop to hang it easily on your tree.

For hangable ornaments, jazz up the hanging spot with big bows, evergreen sprigs, or other decorative touches. Turn a simple pine cone into a charming door hanger in no time.

Try making a snowy decoration with smaller cones: bundle five cones together at their bases and cover the joins with a snowflake ornament. These hangable decorations look amazing not just on trees but anywhere you want to add a festive touch!

More Decorating Ideas

Your imagination is the only limit when it comes to decorating with pine cones—you can use these natural treasures in countless creative ways.

Pine cone wreaths are a favorite and truly stunning. For larger cones, wire bases work best, while smaller cones look great on moss or evergreen backings. You can also create eye-catching pine cone balls, perfect as table decorations or hanging ornaments.

Use floral foam or a round polystyrene ball as a base, then glue similarly sized cones onto it with a hot glue gun. Depending on your style, place the ball on tied branches or hang it with a ribbon above a door or light fixture. Feel free to add snow spray, gold beads, or any other little touches you love to make it truly yours.
