Make Your Little Houseplants Happier with This Super Simple IKEA Hack — Garden & terrace

Some rooms in your home get less light, and even low-maintenance plants might struggle there. But with smaller plants, you’ve got an easy fix—just head to IKEA for a piece of furniture.

Many use colored grow lights to speed up young plants’ growth, but that doesn’t always work. If you want to turn tiny seedlings into lush, leafy plants, you’ll need a simple indoor greenhouse

What You’ll Need:

Grab a Besta cabinet frame from IKEA, available in several colors. Add the right-sized Glassvik glass doors, a couple of glass shelves, and some grow lights. With a little help from your partner, you’ll have a perfect indoor greenhouse in no time.

How to Build It:

Set up the frame and add two glass shelves. Place a grow light above each shelf. After installing the lights, attach the glass doors to the cabinet, then add your plant seedlings. Assembly takes about an hour, but if you’re unsure, ask your partner for a hand.

Thanks to the artificial light, your little plants will grow surprisingly fast, and the indoor greenhouse looks stunning in your living room. (Plus, experts say green plants boost your mood, and caring for them is calming too.)

It’s not too late to start! If you’re ready to dive in now, go for it! January is the toughest month for many, and spending time with plants is a guaranteed mood lifter. Grab your screwdriver and start building your very own indoor greenhouse!
